Advanced Technology International (ATI), an organization that specializes in building and managing R&D collaborations with the Defense Department, was awarded the Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) by the Naval Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) to build and maintain the new naval surface technology consortium, focused on developing naval surface and maritime capabilities.
The consortium is comprised of small and large businesses, universities, and non-profits, and its goal is to improve the Navy's capabilities and to deliver new technology in a number of areas.
According the NSTIC's website, the Navy will fund consortium members' efforts to develop new products and technologies, in these critical areas:
