SBIR/STTR Up for Reauthorization---Again!

It's hard to believe that we are doing this again (and as many of you recall, we recently wrote on the push in Washington to make the SBIR/STTR Programs permanent), but the programs are once again up for reauthorization, and it's time for all contractors to get involved in the effort to keep these vital programs alive (before they are set to expire in 2017)!

In order to guarantee these programs will be around long enough to fund your Phase 1 and 2 awards (and to ensure these programs are kept alive for years to come), it is imperative you join the movement---and act quickly! If the contracting community waits until after the current Congress recesses, we will have to seek reauthorization under a new President and new Congress, which will only further delay the process, and possibly jeopardize the programs.

How Can You Help?

You NEED to write your Congressional Representative, and tell them you want the SBIR/STTR programs to be reauthorized, and you WANT IT DONE NOW!

The Small Business Technology Council (SBTC) has streamlined this process for contractors and grantees, providing everyone with a pre-written letter on the topic. All you need to do is add your name and contact information, and the SBTC will send it (electronically), to your Representative and Senators.  The letter can be found at:

The whole process only takes minutes, and your support could mean the difference in the future of the programs!

Please take a few minutes to do this, and as always: if you ever have any questions about DCAA Compliance, Government Contract Accounting and Contract Management, or contracting in general, please do not hesitate to contact ReliAscent at any time. At ReliAscent, the Success of our Clients, and all Small Business Federal Contractors & Grantees is our Top Priority!
