Deltek New Product Announcements

I'm just back from the 2010 version of the Deltek Insight conference.  This year's event was held in National Harbor, MD just outside Washington D.C.  The location of the event allowed many "beltway" businesses to attend as well as draw on some local resources.  As a result, the number of and quality of the conference break-out sessions was outstanding.  Deltek was able to announce many new products including those that are being introduced in 2010 to enhance their GCS Premier product line.  One of the more interesting new products for me was the Mobile Time product.  This product allows the user to enter their time, in complete compliance with DCAA guidelines, using their smart phone.   With the reliance on smart phones growing with all business users, this makes perfect sense.  Now each employee can use an App on their phone and record their time in full compliance with government regulations.  The new govWin program is slightly confusing at first glance.  This is because Deltek used to have a program called Govwin that was renamed Costpoint CRM and the new govWin is now a website to connect large and small contractors on government opportunities.  The new govWin is similar to a LinkedIn or Facebook but relative to the world of government contracting.  The last of the major product introductions is the Budgeting and Planning module.  This product provides powerful planning tools, program management tools and forecasting tools.  There is too much to cover in this blog but I'm always happy to discuss this with you if you call me.  I can be reached at 303-867-8125.
